Life coachingis a mutually agreed professional partnership between client and coach.
It is aboutchange, finding the difference that makes the difference and closing the knowing/doing gap. It is the catalyst for new ideas. It provides opportunity. It breaks self imposed boundaries and is for people with the ego-strength to look reality in the face. It involves working individually with a coach to change areas in your life where you feel stuck, are not fulfilling your potential or are facing a challenge.
It works by moving a person to a new choice point through asking questions which allows a client to explore, understand and construct new realities, new strategies and new ways of functioning. Acoachingfocused conversation allows a client to cut to the heart of things.
When a person creates their own change they do more, become more, achieve more, and contribute more.
While we are all "coaches" to some degree, it's important to acknowledge the "degree" and this is explained in my interview with Dr Joyce - Part 4 - on my "useful links" page. Engaging a Coach who has received coach-specific training from a training school recognised by one of the 3 main independent professional bodies guarantees you an "authentic coaching" experience.
